“Go “YE” into all the world”
Who exactly has been commissioned to work for the Lord? Was it the evangelist, Bible teacher, or the preacher? Or
should we, as Christians all be involved? In the context of Mark 16:15, Christ is talking to His disciples. Now if
Christ wanted just those disciples to go into the world and no one else, then we of today wouldn’t have to
worry about it any more. But those instructions didn’t apply only to certain individuals; it applies to all
Christians. That’s right, it applies to you too. (Mark 16:15-16) And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall
be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. That passage in Mark is talking to everyone who is a Christian,
Christ didn’t limit that passage to just apostles, evangelist, and preachers, it was directed to us all. In
other words we all bear the responsibility to tell the world about Jesus Christ. (Titus 5:9-11) For
God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether
we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another,
even as also ye do.
Let’s us be realistic, one man cannot tell everyone about Christ.
For example: if you are running around doing your daily chores, and you happen to come to a place where many are
gathered, why not take the time to take your Bible out and teach Jesus Christ? That responsibility falls on us all
and not just limited to evangelist, Biblical teachers, and preachers. Once the apostles laid hands on those added
to the church, they didn’t say, “just relax and leave all the teaching and preaching to us”, they
instructed them to go into all the world and teach Jesus Christ to all mankind. Now with that said, those responsibilities
aren’t excluded from evangelist, teachers, and preachers, they too are included in the spreading of the Gospel.
But that burden and privilege can’t fall only on those individuals. The whole reason for preachers preaching,
and teachers teaching, is so that you’ll know how to better use God’s Holy Word as a tool for bringing
the lost to Christ. (Rom 10:14-17) How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how
shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel
of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord,
who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. No one is excused
from preaching and teaching God’s Holy Word. We have appointed times for the church to meet. The first day
of the week is one of those times, but the evening service and midweek classes are just as important. The more you
understand God’s Word, the easier it is to teach it to others, but that commitment has to come from you. I
guess what I’m trying to say is this, don’t blame the evangelist, teachers and preachers for your lack
of knowledge, after all, their teaching is there at the appointed times, the only things missing is your presence.
